Kansas Reunion         June 30 - July 2!
It's that time of year again for the hooten and hollarin of the Miller/Hunt clan in Scott City, Kansas!

Karen Hoover is at it again with Lindsay Miller, Jamie Hunt & Shari Gaston, and by what we have received so far it looks like it's gonna be even better than the last one (if that is possible).

If you haven't been to one of these get togethers yet, you gotta see for yourself!  You will rediscover the rich heritage that is the Hunt/ Miller family!

Four generations back (in some cases), will be there to share the laughter and memories of times gone by, an times to come!

Swimming, horsebck riding, canoeing (watch out for Lindsay in canoe), hiking & just lazin around the camp facility.

There is great food (a Buffalo BBQ), home baked goodies, skits, and talent contest, old photos to view and tons of fun in store for you.

The camp has hot showers, a general store, lake, horses, pool, lots of hiking trails, and lots of sunshine and fresh air!

It only costs $100/ person (50.00 for children 5-12), and free for kids 4 and under!

The Old Oak Tree

In the program for the reunion in 1997, I drew a family tree (like an old oak), which listed all the families as they relate to the oldest known Hunt which was Abel I in 1768 Barren County, Kentucky.  If you had a picture of this tree what you would see is Abel I at the
base, Noah above him (his son), Abel II (Noah's son), George R. Hunt (Abel II's son), Isaac S. Hunt (George's son) and
the children of Isaac Hunt thru his wives Alice & Opal, then up the branches, 4 off Alice, 3 off Opal, and then off these branches are the children of them, and
their children and their children and their children (at that time going back 10 generations from Abel I to 1997).  This reunion probably has at least one more generation to add to that!
So by way of tying the proverbial old yellow ribbon around the old oak tree, this reunion can be your way of acknowledging the richness of your forefathers & mothers in the Hunt/ Miller clan!

The computer is my friend!
I find it quite amusing how quickly the current generation has embraced the computer and foud way to use it to commuicat, reearch and play, and the older ones many times are still resistant. You can put a 5 year old in front of a cumputer and they can find books in the library, search encyclopedias for projects at school and eve play games that help them with math and reading!  I am lucky, as a 46 year old, I fell n love with the computer immediately (even back hen they had Fortran, and DOS).

Now with Windows nd Mac computers, any one can use and have fun with the technology available today.  You may ask me what ths has to do with the reunion coming up?  Well, did you know (all you writing impaired kin folk), that many ofus have email (including Virginia Hunt), and you can write, and share stories, and visit the web page Doug Hunt created, and read up on the

Hunts and Millers?  You can also make plans for the reunion (hotels, airlines, rental cars etc. )  There are tons of spots on the internet for research on genealogy also.
